Plan to strut in 10 minutes early for your debut class. We suggest wearing comfortable active wear and will ask you to take off your shoes. We recommend wearing grip socks for safety and hygiene reasons and have these available for sale at the studio. Don't forget your trusty water bottle either! You'll thank us later when you're parched from all that hard work. But hey, if you forget, we've got you covered with bottles for sale and a tap flowing with fresh water.

Due to our loyal keen friends and limited number of reformers, we require all friends to book in for a class. This can be done via the website or by downloading our Pilates & friends app from the app store. Search for “Pilates & Friends” If it is a last-minute drop in, you are welcome to try your luck and show up, but a space can't be promised as bookings have first option. Still having trouble with technology as we do sometimes? Contact us directly at mairangibay@pilatesandfriends.co.nz

“Reformer pilates utilises a specialized carriage with adjustable resistance levels, offering a dynamic and effective form of movement. It provides crucial support for joints while targeting specific muscle groups to enhance strength, tone, and overall functionality. By isolating muscles, Pilates exercises work to improve posture, flexibility, core strength, overall strength and balance. Think of your favourite superhero and let's go with that.
One of the great things about Pilates is its adaptability to different fitness levels. Overall, Pilates is a holistic form of exercise that not only strengthens the body but also promotes mental clarity and well-being. Whether you're looking to improve your physical fitness, rehabilitate from an injury, or de-stress from the chaos of life, Pilates offers many benefits for people of all walks of life.

We encourage a balanced, sustainable weekly routine. If you want to see results, then three or more times a week would be the go. If you are an active person and would like Pilates as a supplement to your existing routine, then twice a week would be suggested. You can never do too much Pilates!

We get it – life happens, and plans can change, and cancellations are sometimes unavoidable. However, we do have a cancellation policy in place which must be adhered to, due to our limited availability and waitlists buzzing.
Early cancel:
If you cancel at least 6 hours prior to class start time, your session will be refunded to your account to use in future.Late cancel and no show:
If you cancel less than 6 hours prior to the class start time, or do not show up for your class without cancelling 6 hours prior to the class start time, then your session will be deducted from your account.
If you're on our unlimited intro or membership plan, please note that a $10 penalty may be applied for any additional late cancellations within the month. -
If you go to make a booking but the class is full, you have the option to add yourself to the waitlist. Should a space become available, clients on the waitlist will be notified, the first to book gets the spot.
Psst! Don't forget about your waitlist – it's like your backup plan's backup plan. If your plans suddenly take a left turn and you can't make it to class, do us a solid and hop off the waitlist. Not only will you save yourself from losing a session, but you'll also open a spot for someone else itching to jump in. Just a heads-up, though: our late cancellation and no-show policy still apply.
